We’re always on the lookout for resources to support our advocacy.
Here are some of the sites we’re visiting for information, tools and inspiration.
Open Australia
The Open Australia website makes information about the Australian Parliament more accessible. One of our favourite features is its email alerts. This allows you to be emailed whenever an identified person speaks in Parliament or whenever a key word is mentioned. It also has a searchable database with information on politicians and hansard.
The Commons Social Change Library
We love a library and we love advocacy. When you put these things together you get the Commons Social Change Library. The library has more than 1,000 resources with information on all things advocacy including campaign strategy, fundraising, communications and more. It also has a range of templates and tools for strategy development.
Common Cause and Frameworks
When we’re looking for messaging guides and resources, we visit Common Cause and Frameworks. On both of these sites there are a range of guides on issues including housing and homelessness, health, human rights, gender equality, education, economic justice and many more. These guides are great in helping to establish key messages to drive change.
Australia Votes and Poll Bludger
If you’re tracking the recent federal election outcome, you may by following the ABC’s Australia Votes or Poll Bludger live results. These sites are great for looking at which seats have changed, how people voted and also in providing analysis of election and polling data.
Analysis and Policy Observatory
APO is a site of public policy research, with more than 40,000 resources. The website includes policy reports and releases from governments, parliaments, not for profit organisations and research institutes.
