Advocacy Coordination

The ACT Children First Alliance is a network of longstanding not-for-profit providers of children’s services in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), including early learning centres, family day care, preschool and after school care. Members of the Children First Alliance are:

  • Anglicare NSW South, NSW West & ACT
  • Capital Region Community Services
  • Communities@Work
  • Community Services #1
  • Goodstart Early Learning ACT
  • MOCCA
  • Woden Community Service
  • YMCA Canberra
  • YWCA Canberra

Together they operate 43 Early Learning Centres (ELCs) with 3,491 places. The Alliance was established to develop and communicate a shared vision for early childhood education and care (ECEC) in the ACT and to ensure that all children have access to ECEC.

For Purpose worked with the nine not-for-profit organisations to develop the Children First Alliance, including terms of reference, policy priorities and a strategic advocacy and communications strategy. For Purpose has also provided ongoing coordination for the alliance since early 2017, including policy writing, event coordination, media engagement and ongoing social media and advocacy strategy development.
